CSA is a great concept. You can probably find one in your area by talking to folks at your local farmers’ market or looking one up over on Local Harvest.
I get my box of produce from Riverbend Roots every Tuesday. This week I got quite a haul!
Here it is:
I got Kohlrabi (lots of it), cucumbers, tomatoes, an acorn squash, sweet peppers, hot peppers, a head of summer crisp lettuce, and some sage.
The box down in front is full of tomatoes out of my dad’s garden. His plants have been prolific this season, and he and my mom just can’t eat them or give them away fast enough. I’ll be canning most of these.
What delicious things would you do with these?
Pickle those peppers, make some salads with the tomato, greens and cucumber, and bake that squash with some brown sugar and maple syrup!
